Silver was crying in the hallway around 4am, so I let her in. An hour later, she was crying to go out again.

Pol made enquiries about collection of Clinical Waste. Some council dickhead thought this was Hygiene Waste (nappies and incontinence pads). So a guy just tried to deliver a huge yellow bin and purple sacks. Nope, not required.

5 minutes later, the sharps box exchange guy arrived, moaning about only being able to do 2/3 of what he can normally do, due to the 20mph speed limits. If he exceeds the speed limit, he gets a loud alarm in the cab, and a severe warning from his boss over the radio.

I asked him about Clinical Waste, and he said that the same company does that, but in another vehicle. But it all requires an NHS or GP contract. Our GP renewed the contract for sharps boxes over the weekend after it lapsed a couple of weeks ago. But the Clinical Waste contract is still expired.

He took the Clinical Waste bag anyway, as it all gets taken to the same incinerator.

A terrible night. To bed around midnight. Left leg cramp around 2am, Right leg cramp around 4am. Then woken by screaming gulls just after 7am, with no chance of cropping-off again.

Despite a poor night's sleep, I felt quite energetic this afternoon, so got some carpentry repairs done in the garden.

I woke just before 8, a bit wobbly, but at least I slept all night.

I've just been laid down for 30 minutes.

Ditto. A nurse is due to return today on a 2-day cycle, any time from 8 to 8.

Jackhammers were in use in Tesco's car park after midnight, but I soon dropped-off. Awake and up before 9 again. I feel a bit weary but know that I couldn't have fallen back to sleep.
