I was woken in the wee hours by a repeated loud tapping. I thought it was someone using a hammer, but a neighbour said he heard it too. It was someone knocking hard on a door somewhere.

Then a robot called at 8:06 to say that the council will be doing gas safety checks, but the date and time were scrambled.

No sign of the binmen yet. It's the return of the green bins, so maybe they are picking up full loads that have accumulated over the winter.

The central heating woke me at 7, then the squealing bin lorry appeared minutes later.  :grumpy:

I managed a short nap.  :bed:

I have things to do in the garden, but even the hot sunshine is not calling me.

I was woken by shouting in the street not long after dawn. But I managed to drop off again. :bed:

I woke, got bored, got up at 9:25, thinking it was probably much later.

Twice I tried for a nap, but twice I was woken by deliveries.

I was woken just after 9 by the metal fairy on his megaphone.  :grumpy:

A very shiny Audi TT was parked opposite my car, but something looked wrong. I walked over and saw that all 4 low-profile tyres were totally flat, and it had obviously been driven on its rims for a while. The tyres were a mess too.

I wrote a note "DO NOT DRIVE THIS CAR, IT HAS FOUR FLAT TYRES".

I was about to put it under the wiper when a tiny, irate lady shouted "NO NOT TOUCH MY CAR!!"

She stormed over, so I just handed her the note, She didn't even glance at it, but just got into the car and roared off at speed with the wheels screaming.

I wonder how long before she wraps it around a lamppost?
