I got up very early as the wind was supposed to be zero for a few hours. That meant I could spray the Horsetails. But it's bl**dy windy again.

It was a real struggle to get working instead of taking a nap.

I feel oddly elated that I got to spray the Horsetails. I hope it does the job.

As I got home after dropping the missus at her clinic, the recycling truck was heading our way. In front was a guy in a shirt with tie, wearing an odd helmet with 2 cameras on it, and he was riding an electric trike.

He kept stopping and looking inside the red bags (metal and plastic waste), then putting stickers on most.

He put a sticker on ours, so as he rode off, I went and read it:

"REJECTED ITEMS! Only plastic bottles and their caps can be accepted as plastic waste. All other plastic items must now go in your black bin".

I tore it up and the bag was emptied with no fuss.

If they want to pick-and-choose what they accept, they should give us ample warning.

I woke far too warm, but at least I slept well enough.

That was a long, hot night with the windows open. Traffic starts very early near here.

I was woken at 3:10 by the Tesco gulls, then again later, followed by Magpies machine-gunning.

A good kip, and I awoke during a vivid dream about preparing a van for a trip.
