What is the E10 petrol thing?

British Gas are raising my Direct debit for gas and leccy from just over £100, to over £200. Can you look online for a better price?

I explained E10, took their vehicle details, checked online. Both incompatible.

Then I explained that all companies will raise their prices when the Cap rises on Oct 1st. It's best to wait until then, There should be very little difference between them. But the online comparison sites have been so overwhelmed, that they are not doing gas and leccy comparisons at the moment.

They walked off grumbling.

Then 3 more elderly neighbours appeared with the same questions.

I had notification that a delivery was due between 1:30 and 3:30 yesterday. The van was parked up 200 yards from here.

It didn't arrive, and now it says it'll be here between 12 and 2.

An email said that I missed the delivery at 12:15, and that a calling card had been popped through the letterbox.

I was smoking on the porch at that time, and no vans were around, and no card through the door. No email to say the package will arrive today.

The package had better turn up today, or the company who sent it will ask for it to go back to them, and they'll start using another delivery company.

I've just had an email from the delivery company.

Tracking shows that my delivery arrived today, Friday 24 Sep 2021 09:09 Tracking Number 1569987195 To Postcode S75 3SP

But I live in CF14 and no package has been delivered here!

I am sorry that you haven't received your order yet and for any inconvenience caused by this.

I've been checking this and I can see that the order has been returned back to our warehouse after being severely damaged in transit, for which we apologise.

So a full refund, and we'll make a new order.

I thought there had been a crash as the road outside was eerily quiet. Nope, they are queuing for the petrol station about half a mile down the road. Seems like the media have done the usual ,'don't panic' and people have panicked. Sheeesh
