Kids screaming and shouting in the street woke me around 7:30, then they started kicking a ball about

It was so stuffy in here that I got up before the kids started shouting and screaming again.

A hot and sticky night with all the windows open. Then I was finally fully woken by a contractor shovelling gravel before 8am.

Up, but still tired , it's the heat

[Mike]

Shattered, to hot to sleep well

I thought it was a bit quiet. The missus had closed the windows! 26c in here, so I had a poor kip.

[Tâf]

Shattered, it felt like there were police and ambulance sirens all night.

I arrived on time for the dentist, only to be asked why I hadn't turned up on Tuesday? Our family is seen on Fridays as that is the only day our dentist works for the NHS. I showed her the appointment card I had been given.

"You will be seen by whoever is free".

"The system sent you a letter changing the appointment. Oh dear, it didn't. She is fully booked for the next 3 months, but you have to be seen at the 3-month point, or the practice won't be paid. I'll put you down for next Friday, and she'll have to work late".

Then I asked why Pol had an appointment for 2 weeks' time, but the lad hasn't.

"The new arrangement means you will only be seen once a year, but if you have any treatment, that starts the clock going for the next checkup a year later. So no chance of a family appointment in future".

The receptionist is always in a grumpy mood, but she was at boiling point at that point, so I thanked her for the appointment, and let the small crowd behind me get to her. The first was a red-faced bloke.

"Why have I been billed for missing an appointment? It's not due for 2 more weeks!"

I giggled behind my mask.....

I forgot to mention that on the counter in the dentist was a small sign.

"Smokers and vapers must not smoke or vape on the day of their appointment".

Shattered, the bedroom was far to hot last night and I had real trouble sleeping

I slept well until I was woken by a truck making a delivery at 6:20am!

The worst nights sleep so I feel drained
