The lad pulled loads of bits out of 2 of the kitchen drawers, stuffed it all back in again, and has jammed both of them. The screwdriver I need to sort it out is in one of them!

The annual insurance for the Skoda was £113 (Protected Comprehensive) with Swinton.

Comparethemarket showed a quote from them for the same cover for the Dacia I'm buying as £424 (with excesses as £400).

For the same, eSure quotes £230 (with excesses at £200).

So I went to Swinton asking if they could beat that price. Their calculator came out with £1016!!

With 9 months to run with Swinton, I asked how much I would get refunded if I cancelled. Just £35 due to a cancellation fee of £60 which was just £25 when I took out the policy!

Cancelled, and they did some strange calculation that made it seem like I only had 6 months left, so would have to pay THEM to cancel the policy. After a word with a boss, I got the £35 I was due.

I did some math afterwards, and it looks like they took their £50 commission out of the formula.

The car is delayed as the valet is off sick again. It's not a problem, as I don't fancy losing a whole month to Car Tax for just a few days.

My guts are finally starting to settle down, but my appetite is still kaput.

I woke long before the alarm, but could have stayed in bed a lot longer. Nap time later I think.

I haven't walked that far in years. About 2.5 miles with a big hill in the middle. It would have been hell if my guts were still as bad as they were a few days ago.

Ambulance sirens woke me just after 8, and they seem to be doing a lot of work this morning, as there are a few every hour.
