I was woken by the chimes of the local ice cream van at 7:50, then they sounded again at 8:10. ???

I had to get up anyway to drive the missus for her GP appointment.

We got there, the receptionist said there was no appointment for her, so the missus showed the appointment slip she had been given. That was declared "an error" and she was give another slot in 2 weeks' time!
